We have a dream to
Create a sustainable ranch that is a home and place of healing for teenage girls rescued from sex trafficking. We hope to provide for them a safe, nurturing environment where they can connect with nature, receive proven, effective therapies, learn life skills, and transition into a successful adulthood.
Approach
Education
We value not only the traditional schooling, but also educating our girls in skills that can be practically applied right out of high school, like skills in technology, finances, and cooking.
Organic Living
At AJR, our girls learn how to grow, harvest, prepare, and eat in a way that nourishes and cherishes the body. They will interact daily with the farm animals and have plenty of fresh air, sunshine, and nature to enjoy.
Life Skills
Many of these girls come from tragic backgrounds where life skills were not taught. Here at AJR, we will teach them how to take care of themselves and prepare for a bright future.
Effective Therapy
At AJR, our girls will receive customized therapies proven successful with victims of trauma and those diagnosed with PTSD. They will also receive regular horse therapy and live in the healing environment of the ranch, surrounded by nature.
Work Ethic
We understand that part of developing self-confidence and future success starts with learning the joy and value of a job well done. Our girls will be given responsibilities that stretch them and help them to grow.
Transitioning
We will take care of our girls until they are set up for success in the real world, prepared mentally, emotionally, and physically to step into adulthood. They will leave our ranch with a new home and job in place.
